Member Meeting, Sun Jan.21st 2pm

Greetings SRA members and welcome to a prosperous 2018.
This is a reminder of the upcoming members meeting on Sunday, January 21st, 2 pm - 4 pm at the Shrewsbury Community Center.
The regular monthly Bingo's and Food sales have been very successful and more than cover our regular bills.
We are beginning to seek business sponsorship for the 2018, Shrewsbury Ribs and Blues festival and would appreciate some help. Details will be available at the meeting.
I would also like to discuss the possibility of funding SmartServe training of those committed to working the bar this year.

It would also be very good to confirm the planning committee for the Maple Syrup Festival in late March.

This winters weather should set the perfect backdrop for this years Shrewsbury Maple Syrup festival.
We will also discuss building rennovations and funding opportunities for the Baseball Diamond. A professional ball diamond in Shrewsbury represents an ongoing funding opportunity that has the potential to offset all maintenance costs of the 4 acre field, including it's own care.
Additional revenue can be used to create further community benefits limited only by the SRA mandate, our imagination and our will.
It is a significant investment, so sponsorship is vital to avoid a long return.
There had been some discussion around replacement of the Parking Lot pole light, leased from hydro one, with a light triggered, higher wattage LED.
On November 17th, there was a dedication ribbon cutting ceremony for the new trail. Attendees included, Mayor Hope, members of the Kent Trails Committee, fundraising partners from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission and SRA members.
OLG reps discussed further event funding opportunities for 2018.

As with every meeting, we will begin with an approval of the previous meeting minutes and financial report.
Although we welcome new business from the floor, it's good to keep our meetings under 2 hours.

Thank you for your Contributions.
